Chocolate Chip Cookies to Die For!

I totally forgot gift for the kids teachers this year. I've been super busy starting my business and it just kinda slipped my mind. So the kids and I whipped up some chocolate chip cookies last minute and decorated some gift bags.

This is my go-to chocolate chip cookie recipe, it's from my old beat up Betty Crocker cookbook. They are perfect. Soft on the inside and firm on the outside. They taste like the best homemade chocolate cookies ever. If there is one thing I have perfected it is these cookies! Here's the recipe:
Chocolate Chip Cookies
3/4 cup granulated sugar
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
1 cup butter or margarine, softened
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 large egg
2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

Heat oven to 375.
Beat sugars, butter, egg and vanilla.
Mix flour, baking soda and salt together in a separate bowl.
Add flour mixture to sugar mixture and stir until combined.
Stir in chocolate chips, dough will be quite stiff.
Drop large rounded tablespoons of dough onto ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake 8-10 minutes.

A Cake For a Princess

I am still working on the lime green and purple cake, cupcakes and party outfit. I wanted to share a photo of the cake from my own princess' party. Georgina who was turning 3 requested a black and white polka dot cake with pink flowers. Quite the order!
I made it 3 tiers, chocolate, vanilla and strawberry, with vanilla butercream, and fondant. There was about 50 people at the party and there was still lots of cake left over.

Wedding cakes are lots of work!

Last night Mark and I decorated a wedding cake for a friend of his. He arrived with Dolly at 830 and we finished the cake at 1230. It turned out perfectly. Vanilla pound cake with a creamy caramel filling, vanilla butter cream and vanilla fondant. Mark who used to be a baker did some beautiful free hand  piping on the side.

I also picked up some green and purple supplies for the  princess party  photo shoot. I am hoping to get everything finished this week so we can take photos this weekend.

Princess Party Prep

Working with Mark on a cake tonight for a wedding, and I am in the planning stages for a princess party photo shoot. Going to Essential Packaging today, to get some cake boxes and to pick up a few things for the princess party. That store makes my head spin, so many cool boxes and bags, and ribbon and paper.

I got started on my online store yesterday, very exciting. Working on the layout and look and feel. I added over 60 different cupcake liners, all different designs and colors. Today I will add cake board and drums. Kinda boring but a necessity for any cake decorator.
